Here at Legacy Quarter Horses we've been in the breeding business for nearly 30 years. We started out where everyone else in the breeding business does, with goals. In our breeding program our goal is to produce not only good movers that will qualify for nearly any proformance event, but for a wonderful disposition as well. With having kids around there is no room for a horse that cannot tollerate the strange things children will do.
Our first stallion that we stood was BIG BOSS BONANZA a 1979 16 HH Sorrel IF Stallion. Some of his get are Murpy Bonanza, Shesa Boss Lady,
Tailwinds Delight, and Gem of a Boss (pictured right).
Our second stallion was SIR JOAK VAN, a 1984 Liver Chestnut
Stallion, van also sired many wonderful
horses that went on to the show ring and
proved themselves. Some of his get are;
Miss Dallas Bar Joak, Sir Nicky Straw,
earned AQHA points in Western Pleasure,
and Halter, and his get recieved points in
Halter, Showmanship, Hunter Under Saddle, Western Pleasure, and Reining.
Now as time has passed we had the privlidge to own
one of the most outstading stallions that possesed the
mind, movement, and ability to accomplish so many things.
we loved dearly for his mind, tempermant and disposition.
Sonny accomplished so much more than we had ever
thought possible, a earner of over 210 AQHA points in
5 events. Placing 3 rd at the AQHA World show in
Jr. Western Riding and being Reserve Congress Champion
in Jr. Western Riding. Sonny was the sire of Youth AQHA
champions, Youth, Open, and Amateur Performance ROM
earners, Youth Halter ROM earners, and Superior Amateur
Showmanship Earners. Some of Sonnys Get are; Lippin Off,
Showmanship, Working Hunter, Equitation Over Fences, Hunter Hack, Hunter Under Saddle, Hunt Seat Equitation, Western Pleasure, Horsemanship, Western Riding, Trail, Reining, Two-Year Old Snaffle Bit, and Yearling Lounge Line.
